Have a look at our supporting resources (information video, infographic and article) with ideas gathered from schools about how they facilitate online course engagement using Croke Park hours to support digital learning in their school. AI in Schools ![]() Updated EU Ethical Guidance on AI The EU has revised its ethical guidelines on AI use in schools. The new guidance aims to further support educators in making informed and ethical decisions when using AI in the classroom. ![]() Exploring AI for your school? Digital Technology Infrastructure ![]() Networking and WiFi When schools are seeking to purchase a new WiFi system or upgrade their existing system they need to purchase a system that is fit-for-purpose for their school situation. Schools generally have a higher number and density of WiFi devices compared to other situations, and need to purchase a system which can meet the demanding needs of education today. Refer to our WiFi Network Guide for Schools, which we developed to assist with these decisions. Projects & Initiatives ![]() Digital Portfolios Initiative: Webinar The Post Primary Digital Technologies Team are delighted to invite teachers and school leaders to an information webinar on the post-primary Digital Portfolios Initiative. This initiative offers an opportunity for post-primary teachers to explore how digital portfolios can meaningfully support learner agency by strengthening student choice, ownership, responsibility, and goal setting. This webinar is on the 21, April at 16.15pm. Book your place here>> ![]() DALI4US Project Update The DALI4US team recently hosted a Learning Exchange with our European partners in Luxembourg and Slovenia. The call allowed participants from partner countries to share their experiences with the Erasmus+ project and how it is enabling them to explore data literacy with the students in their classrooms. The project explores ocean-conservation topics using VR and AI technology within the new STEM curriculum. Through analysis and practical writing tasks, students learn to identify rhetorical techniques and craft their own compelling campaign speeches. Copies will be distributed to all primary school principals in the coming weeks, and the programme can be accessed now at webwise.ie/switchedon ![]() New Garda Schools Programme “What is Coco’s Law?” Lesson A new Garda Schools Programme ‘What is Coco’s Law’ lesson, developed in partnership with Webwise is now available for post-primary schools. The lesson aims to help 1st and 2nd year students understand Coco’s Law, and the legal consequences of it for young people. ![]() Guides for Parents Share the new A Parents’ Guide to Generative AI with parents and guardians in your school community. Developed in partnership with the ADAPT Centre and the National Parents Council, the booklet provides practical advice and guidance on safely and responsibly navigating Generative AI. More News ![]() Reminder! 2026 FÍS Storyboard Storytelling Competition The FÍS Storyboard Storytelling Competition 2026 invites Irish primary school pupils to explore their creativity by creating an original storyboard that visually interprets a story, poem, concept or curriculum topic. The competition supports the development of literacy, creativity and digital media skills. Remember, the competition remains open until 5.00pm on Friday 17th April 2026! |
