MSc in Accounting: Client Audit Simulation with Deloitte

Our MSc in Accounting students engaged in a client audit simulation as part of their audit module, with guidance from Deloitte's audit team.

The simulation centred on planning an audit for a client in the telecommunications industry, where students identified audit risks, analysed internal control deficiencies, reviewed draft financial statements, and evaluated the implications of the new CSRD regulation on the audit.

This exercise provided practical exposure to the complexities of audit planning and familiarised students with current issues in the auditing field.

The session was introduced by Claire Ryan, a Deloitte director, while senior audit associates Ailish Quinn and Anna Holmes facilitated the activity. Seven Deloitte audit associates supported students through the simulation process.
