Biology is the study of life, from the fundamental building blocks of our genes to the largest animals that inhabit our planet; how living things work - how they interact with one another and their surroundings, and how they change and evolve; and it involves the application of biomedical science to clinical research. Biomedical science seeks to understand disease processes and how new therapies might be developed. It seeks to utilise fundamental biological knowledge to advance clinical research.
Students learn how to use analytical and technical procedures to monitor and improve human health and to investigate disease processes. The degree is broadly similar to the pre-clinical component of a medical degree.

Finance is the gateway to a wide range of careers from investment banking and financial analysis to consultancy and even having your own business. If you have an aptitude for problem-solving and enjoy working with numbers, then finance is a very rewarding potential career with the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of others and to the operations of different organisations. In this degree, you will learn about how the financial system works - how assets such as gold, coffee and orange juice are traded, how international markets are linked and the impact of government decisions on markets.
We have access to Bloomberg as well other data platforms so that you can apply your knowledge and perform analysis in the same way as market professionals thus enhancing your employment opportunities post-graduation. We also offer the opportunity to have a work placement in the financial services industry in Ireland or outside of Ireland (subject to availability) to gain hands-on experience. Alternatively, you may decide to study abroad at one of our wide range of partner universities. The financial services industry is a key employer in Ireland and across the globe.
