This paper examines the profile of Ireland’s adult population, using data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS)carried out by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).1 An individual’s level of education refers to the highest level of education achieved on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).2 Education attainment is a key factor in contributing to employment prospects (at an individual level) and the potential supply of skills in the labour force (at a national level).
