CAO Application Final Reminders

We are just over a week away from your CAO application deadline! 

This email contains some CAO application process information and 

portfolio tips. 

Please read on for loads of helpful tips and to see a schedule of our next emails to assist you with both your CAO and Portfolio Submissions! 

Step 1. Apply

To best prepare for the upcoming deadlines, check out these helpful tips to make your CAO process a success!!

• Login to your CAO application using the button below

• List your courses in order of preference

• Remember if you are applying for Direct Entry at NCAD, consider including Common Entry as an option too

• Submit by 5pm Saturday, 1st of Feb

• Prepare to submit a portfolio for each course you apply to at NCAD

**If you are applying to BA Visual Culture, this is the only NCAD course that does not require a portfolio for entry.**

Common CAO application FAQs

~Restricted Courses: You must apply by the 1st of Feb in order for your application to be considered.

~Irish Language Exemption: If you have an exemption, you must apply on the NUI Website here. 

~International Non-EU Students: Must apply directly to NCAD on our website here.

~First Year Art and Design Common Entry: All 1st year students begin courses together, then Common Entry students apply for where they would like to transfer to for year two if they have not applied direct entry.

~Direct Entry: You have the option to apply as a programme direct entry candidate if you know which programme you are most interested in. You are not required to apply direct entry, however, if you do, you may want to consider also applying to common entry as well. 

  Step 2. Prepare Your Portfolio

Your portfolios for each programme are due by 7th February at 5pm!

At this point in January, we hope your portfolio preparation is progressing well. 

Today's recommendations: Have yourself or someone you trust put on a timer for 10 minutes and see if you can review all of your portfolio material in that time (videos, PDFs, photos, documents and notebooks). If not, consider paring your material down to include your best work.

Be sure to submit your portfolio as early as possible to avoid errors or technical issues.
