Pytch is an online coding platform, created by our team at TCD and TU Dublin, that offers a bridge from Scratch to Python. It is useful for students who are getting ready to move on from block-based programming to text-based programming, maybe as a precursor to considering Leaving Cert Computer Science. We have a ready-to-go set of lesson plans available from our website or through the CSLinc platform. Everything is free to use.
Teachers and students who have used Pytch so far have given us positive feedback. We are now keen to gather more data from a wider variety of contexts.
We are looking for schools that would be willing to help us evaluate Pytch and its associated lesson plans. If you are already planning to use Pytch in your classroom, then there is very little extra work, and it would be immensely valuable to us as part of our efforts to improve the system. We also have some capacity to support delivery of Pytch in schools.
