This year's theme, “Prepare / Protect / Thrive: Navigating Algorithms and Influencers”, encourages everyone—parents, educators, and young people—to reflect on how digital influences shape young lives. Safer Internet Day empowers children to thrive online with the skills to navigate both challenges and opportunities. Share your plans on the interactive events map! ![]() ![]() Scripted SID Presentations for Primary and Post-Primary Free SID Presentations are available for Primary and Post-Primary level. The new “Prepare / Protect / Thrive: Navigating Algorithms and Influencers” presentations explore the Safer Internet Day 2025 theme. Additional online safety presentations are available for use with 1st and 2nd class, 3rd and 4th class, and 5th and 6th class. The Post-Primary level presentations explore topics including News, Information and the Problems of False Information; Managing Your Online Wellbeing; and Respectful Communication Online. ![]() Free Online Safety Webinars for Parents This webinar series empowers parents to support their child’s online experience. Each session dives into key aspects of the digital world, from safe communication and healthy online play to identifying misinformation and understanding how algorithms and privacy affect daily digital life. Through practical guidance, parents will learn how to foster respectful, responsible, and positive digital habits in their children. Expert guests for the series include Dr. Colman Noctor, Mark Little, and National Parents Council. ![]() Use the free Webwise Resources You can order free hard copies of the Webwise education resources for Primary and Post-Primary. The resources address a range of key online safety topics including cyberbullying, digital footprint, misinformation, image-sharing, rights online, and privacy. Online Courses ![]() Online Safety and Digital Citizenship All teachers have a role to play in supporting a safer internet experience for their students, so what better way to support them than to ensure that you upskill yourself in online safety—in the context of digital citizenship. Choose from our two online courses: What is Digital Citizenship and How to Teach it (Post-Primary) or Online Safety and Digital Citizenship (Primary). The courses were developed in collaboration with Webwise. ![]() Cyberbullying in Schools We have short, two-hour online courses for primary or post-primary teachers on cyberbullying in schools, which help teachers understand, prevent and respond to cyberbullying. These courses are certified and can potentially be used for Croke Park hours, subject to school management approval. Here are direct links to the primary course and the post-primary course. ![]() Calling all Post-Primary SPHE teachers In the context of the revised SPHE curriculum, our short online course on Teaching Online Safety in the Post-Primary SPHE Classroom will equip you with the skills, confidence and resources to support you in this role. Good Practice ![]() Getting involved in Safer Internet Day In this video, Holy Cross Mercy School describe the activities they take part in for Safer Internet Day, including wearing Webwise wristbands, a poster competition, student-led workshops, presentations and an internet safety song. ![]() Exploring the topic of image-sharing using the Lockers Programme In this video, St Mary’s Academy CBS, describe the Webwise Lockers Programme which covers the laws on sexting and non-consensual sharing.
