Postgraduate Live Online Information and Q&A Sessions
Meet our Postgraduate Experts
Last month we held two successful Meet the Experts - Postgraduate Live Online Q&A Information Sessions. Our postgraduate team gave key information on our postgraduate programmes and answered many interesting questions posed by the live audience.
The two live online sessions covered MIC’s Professional Master of Education (Primary Teaching) and our postgraduate programmes in Arts, Education, and fees, funding and scholarship options.
Dr Daniel Vazquez is the Head of the Department of Philosophy at MIC.
Dr Vazquez talks to us about his main area of research in ancient Greek and Roman philosophy. He is currently leading two fascinating projects: the first is about the ethics of arguing for both sides of the same question, and the second examines ancient Greek and Roman ideas about the nature and origin of the universe and their conception of time.
He also tells us what he enjoys most about undertaking research projects and gives sound advice for those considering undertaking research-themed postgraduate study.
The MIC Gaelic Player Association (GPA) Scholarship Scheme is open to GPA members only who have applied for and are successful in securing a place in MIC’s postgraduate programmes in Education and the Liberal Arts. Two scholarships will be offered on an annual basis, with at least one being awarded to a female player. Applications are now open for 2024/25. Closing date for applications is 26 July 2024.
Dr John Morrissey Lecturer in Geography at MIC, has been awarded €300,000 in funding to lead the Irish stage of a European project, which is aiming to boost the transformation towards a climate-neutral, sustainable, productive, and competitive ‘Blue Economy’. The project funding comes at a time when the EU is trying to encourage discourse around blue economies, which promotes the sustainable use of ocean resources to benefit economies, livelihoods, and ocean ecosystem health.
