Workshop - Fundamentals of Deep Learning

Businesses worldwide are using artificial intelligence to solve their greatest challenges. Healthcare professionals use AI to enable more accurate, faster diagnoses in patients. Retail businesses use it to offer personalized customer shopping experiences.

Automakers use it to make personal vehicles, shared mobility, and delivery services safer and more efficient. Deep learning is a powerful AI approach that uses multi-layered artificial neural networks to deliver state-of-the-art accuracy in tasks such as object detection, speech recognition, and language translation.

Using deep learning, computers can learn and recognize patterns from data that are considered too complex or subtle for expert-written software.

This is open to all primary, secondary, VTOS, and PLC school teachers.  The event will result in (if successful) NVIDIA certification (worth $500) for the fundamentals of deep learning course. The course is supported by the HEA performance fund, School of Enterprise Computing and Digital Transformation and the CSinc Research Centre in TU Dublin. This CPD is to support teachers interested in or teaching AI!

Important points:

• The course is on Saturday the 24th of May 2025
• The course will be in person and run from 10 am to 5 pm (including the assessment task).  
• You must attend all day on the Tallaght campus in TU Dublin.
• There is lunch provided, as well as a well needed coffee break!

• You will get your certificate if successful on the day.

• Places are limited and will be assigned on an FCFS basis (first 200).
