WIDE Online Launch, Better Options and AHEAD Start
AHEAD works with and for disabled people to shape inclusive and empowering environments in tertiary education and employment. In this weekly newsletter we give updates on our organisation and employment opportunities with our partners.
WIDE Framework Online Launch - Friday 24th October
AHEAD and our partners in Employers for Change were delighted with the in-person launch of the WIDE Framework last Friday - a new platform and self-review tool supporting organisations to hire, retain, and promote more disabled people and create a more inclusive workplace.
Come to the online launch this Friday to learn more about the WIDE platform and hear from members of the WIDE National Advisory Group about how organisations can play their part in closing the disability employment gap.
The development of WIDE was funded by the Department of Social Protection.
Thank you to the WIDE Advisory Group for their support and to all the disabled people, employers and disability organisations that took part as co-designers in the process of developing this initiative.

AHEAD Start is AHEAD's online learning training course on supporting students with disabilities in Further and Higher education.
This comprehensive programme explores inclusive practices, legal obligations, assistive technology and the needs assessment process, providing participants with the knowledge and tools to confidently support disabled students.
A past participant noted that AHEAD Start “It is an excellent course and very valuable for anyone working closely with students. I did struggle to find the time to attend the webinars as it was the busiest time of term. It is great to be able to watch back in your own time. Very accessible course.”
The following will feature interesting disability, education, and employment related stories from external sources that we've come across over the past week. Please note that this is not an endorsement.
