Where to look for information on Climate Change?TU Dublin

What is Climate Change?  What causes it?  And what can we do?

The following list of web resources – compiled by Stephen Barry and Dr. Ken Boyle, both lecturing on the BSc Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (DT106) at TU Dublin Environment & Planning – provide some useful answers to these questions:

The Irish Environmental Protection Agency provides its own dedicated web resource on climate change.  http://www.epa.ie/climate/communicatingclimatescience/whatisclimatechange/

The Climate Ireland site has a lot of good information on climate change and adaptation in Ireland.  https://www.climateireland.ie/#!/

Carbon Brief is a UK-based website covering the latest developments in climate science, climate policy and energy policy.  It produces clear, data driven articles and gives an excellent summary of climate change related articles in the media. https://www.carbonbrief.org/

The Royal Society is a Fellowship of many of the world's most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.  There is lots of useful information on its dedicated site to climate change, including a short video, climate change in 60 seconds.   https://royalsociety.org/topics-policy/projects/climate-change-evidence-causes/

EIT Climate-KIC is a European knowledge and innovation community, working towards a prosperous, inclusive, climate-resilient society founded on a circular, zero-carbon economy.  https://www.climate-kic.org/

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) produce reports on the  impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on the climate now and into the future and examine the likely effects of increasing atmospheric temperatures on all aspects of our lives. The work of the IPCC informs international agreements on how to respond to climate change.  https://www.ipcc.ch/

Climate Change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals are core themes explored and developed within the BSc Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (DT106) at TU Dublin Environment & Planning.
