Where to look for information on Climate Change?

 

What is Climate Change?  What causes it?  And what can we do?  The following list of web resources – compiled by lecturers on the BSc (Hons) in Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (TU835) at the TU Dublin School of Architecture, Building and Environment – provide some useful answers to these questions: -

 

  1. The Climate Ireland site has a lot of good information on climate change and adaptation in Ireland.  Click here ...
  2. The Irish Environmental Protection Agency provides its own dedicated web resource on climate change.  Click here ...
  3. Carbon Brief is a UK-based website covering the latest developments in climate science, climate policy and energy policy.  It produces clear, data driven articles and gives an excellent summary of climate change related articles in the media. Click here ...
  4. The Royal Society is a Fellowship of many of the world’s most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.  There is lots of useful information on its dedicated site to climate change, including a short video on climate change in 60 seconds.   Click here ...

  6. The Climate Action Tracker is an independent scientific project that tracks government climate action and measures it against the globally agreed Paris Agreement aim of "holding warming well below 2°C, and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C Click here ...

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) produce reports on the  impacts of greenhouse gas emissions on the climate now and into the future and examine the likely effects of increasing atmospheric temperatures on all aspects of our lives.
