Updates on Curriculum - NCCA

Issue 50 - May 2025
A Chairde,

The recent sunshine has well and truly signalled the arrival of summer and with it comes the final edition of info@ncca ahead of the school holidays. As usual, we’re sharing news on research and curriculum developments along with links to resources to support your end-of-year reporting.

My main message though is ‘thank you’. 2024/2025 has been another busy school year as you know only too well. I want to say a sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to NCCA’s curriculum and assessment work over the last 12 months. Schools and early childhood settings continue to be at the heart of what NCCA does and how we do it. This work brings us right inside schools and settings across the country enabling us to meet, talk with and hear ideas, views and suggestions from teachers/educators, children and young people, school leaders/managers and parents. This school year also saw us working closely with 38 groups representing the education partners and wider stakeholders. Thank you too to everyone who completed surveys, wrote submissions and participated in consultation events. The articles below show how central all of this engagement is in shaping the advice NCCA provides to the Minister.

I hope you have a great break over the summer months. We’ll be back in October with more news and practical resources.
