UL and Aer Lingus to drive aeronautical innovation

University of Limerick and Aer Lingus are to work together on an exciting new partnership aimed at advancing innovation in aeronautical engineering through cutting-edge research, it has been announced.

As part of this collaboration, Aer Lingus will sponsor a select group of its Maintenance and Engineering employees to pursue a Master of Engineering by Research within UL’s Faculty of Science and Engineering.

This initiative represents a significant investment in the future of aviation, combining academic excellence with real-world industry expertise.

The new master’s programme, which will be delivered over two years on a part-time basis, will provide a research-driven environment focused on both fundamental and applied aeronautical engineering challenges. Key priorities include publishing impactful research findings and strengthening collaborative links between academia and the aviation industry.
