Mid-East Regional Skills Forum Meeting hosted in CELTEC

The Mid-East Regional Skills Forum  would like to thank KWETB for hosting our recent Forum meeting in the Celbridge Engineering Lab Training and Education Centre (CELTEC).  All Forum members and guests were truly impressed with the state of the art facilities offering upskilling and supports in Robotics, Automation and Advanced Manufacturing Techniques. For more information see the website here.

 
South East Technological University has a choice of part-time courses starting this January, from micro credentials to full masters, designed specifically for busy adults, including the Higher Diploma in Science in Computing

National Skills Bulletin Launch

SOLAS, the Further Education and Training Authority, has launched the 20th edition of the National Skills Bulletin.  The bulletin, produced by the SOLAS Skills and Labour Market Research Unit (SLMRU), has become a valuable resource over the last 20 years, providing insights on the Irish labour market at occupational level and identifying where shortages and recruitment challenges exist.  For further details see here

 
The EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is the premier global competition for students who own and operate a business. Nominees compete against their peers from around the world in a series of local and national competitions in hopes to qualify for the GSEA Global Finals. For website see here.

Minister O’Donovan announces €80 million funding for Higher Education Institutions

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Patrick O’Donovan has announced €80 million in capital funding for higher education institutions for research equipment and infrastructure upgrades.

€40 million of funding is being made available through the Higher Education Research Equipment Grant (HEREG) and will assist higher education institutions to purchase world-leading research equipment that will serve the research and development needs of Irish industry.
