Maynooth University awarded €500k under US Ireland programme to advance wave energy

A US Department of Energy study found that if only 5% of potential wave energy was recovered it could power 65 million homes. Along the long coastlines of the US, Ireland, and the UK, there is vast but untapped marine hydrokinetic energy, especially from ocean waves.
