Kerry College Celebrates its 2024 Graduates

Kerry College of Further Education and Training proudly hosted its annual graduation ceremony at the Brandon Hotel on Thursday, 30th January 2025, marking the achievement of hundreds of dedicated graduates.

Graduates, along with their families and friends, gathered to celebrate the hard work, commitment, and success they demonstrated throughout their studies at Kerry College. The ceremony recognised not only academic accomplishments but also the personal growth each learner achieved during their time with the college.

There were over 700 graduates in attendance from Kerry College’s Clash Road, Denny Street, Killorglin, Listowel, and Monavalley campuses. Graduates from a wide range of fields and study methods—including part-time, online, and full-time programmes—were presented with their certificates in a ceremony that highlighted the diverse paths to success.

Bernard Casey, a South Kerry comedian who has advanced his own career through further education, was this year’s guest speaker. Reflecting on his own experience, Bernard shared an inspiring message with the graduates, emphasising the importance of staying focused, finding the right path, and making the most of every opportunity. He encouraged everyone to pursue their goals with confidence, noting that with determination, “the world is your oyster.”

Cllr. Norma Moriarty, newly appointed Chairperson of Kerry ETB, also addressed the graduates with an uplifting message, saying, “Everything about today is positive. It’s positive for you as individuals, for what you’ve achieved, and for the places you are going to enter into the workforce. No doubt, you are here today because of the standard of education you received. I’d like to thank all the staff across the campuses of Kerry College for their unwavering support, and we hope you will continue to fly the flag for Kerry College, inspiring future generations to take advantage of the opportunities it offers.”

Cllr. Anne O’Sullivan, Chairperson of the Kerry College Board, also praised the graduates for their achievements. “It’s a very positive, happy day and a great way for Kerry College to finish January,” she said. “It’s amazing to see such a diverse group, all at different stages of their working lives and careers. I want to acknowledge the dedication of Kerry ETB staff in getting these graduates to where they are today, and I look forward to seeing many of them return, whether in Further Education and Training or in a different capacity.”

As the graduates look toward their future, they carry with them not only the knowledge and skills gained at Kerry College but also the confidence to pursue their dreams. Kerry College remains committed to supporting the lifelong learning journeys of all its graduates, with hopes that they will continue to build their futures in the years to come.
