Kerry College Celebrates its 2023 Graduates

Kerry College of Further Education and Training proudly hosted its graduation ceremony at the Brandon Hotel on Thursday 25th January 2024.

Graduates along with their families and friends were invited to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and success of their journeys with Kerry College. The ceremony reflected not only academic achievements but also the personal growth and development that each learner conquered during their time at Kerry College.

The conferring hall was filled with over 500 proud graduates from Kerry College's various campuses, including Clash Road, Denny Street, Killorglin, Listowel, and Monavalley.

The event marked the first graduation to include our Pathway learners from, Killarney, Killorglin, Listowel, and Tralee. Pathways graduate Méabh Rohan spoke about the growth in her independence since undertaking her course with Kerry College. We were thrilled to hear that the confidence she gained encouraged her to continue on her education journey.

The ceremony featured the presentation of certificates to graduates across a diverse range of fields and delivery methods, including part-time, online and full-time programmes.

The event featured guest speaker and former learner, Ian O'Connell, who currently works as a podcaster and radio presenter at Radio Kerry. His inspirational speech resonated with attendees, leaving them feeling optimistic by imparting a message centered on positivity, resilience, and gratitude. Ian emphasised, "the only disability is a bad attitude," encapsulating the power of a positive mindset.

Cllr. Jim Finucane, Chairman of Kerry ETB, extended best wishes to the graduates in their future endeavours, expressing the privilege of facilitating them on their lifelong learning journey. He strongly urged anyone considering Further Education and Training to visit the Kerry College Admissions Offices in either Tralee or Killarney.

Addressing the graduates, Mr. Owen O'Donnell, Director of Further Education and Training at Kerry ETB, expressed his delight at marking this pivotal milestone in their journey. He congratulated the graduates, recognising their unwavering determination and diligence, and praised the dedication of Kerry College staff for their commitment in supporting learners throughout their educational pursuits. He acknowledged, in particular, the role of the graduates support system and was happy to see so many friends, families, and graduate guests in attendance.

As our Kerry College graduates prepare to step into the next chapter, they carry with them the invaluable lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the skills acquired during their learning journey.

Kerry College remains committed in supporting the lifelong learning journeys of our graduates; we hope they will continue to build their futures alongside us in the years to come.
