It's nearly CAO deadline day!

We hope your students are remaining as stress free as possible! As the CAO deadline approaches we, like you, are here to help students make their decisions. 

Last week we hosted our annual CAO Virtual Information Evening, which was a great success. There was great engagement and questions about courses and DCU life across all our streams. You can now catch up on all our student talks on our DCU Student Help YouTube channel.

There are two other talks we highly recommend.  Student Recruitment Officer, Anthony, presented an Information Session for EU Students and Guidance Counsellors while Student Recruitment Officer, Georgina, gave a very popular talk for Parents & Guardians. 

These talks will not only help you as a Guidance Counsellor but also give your students and their families the wider context of thinking about university choices and the supports available to our students. 

If your students are still unsure of where to begin as they start, or continue their research into their futures at DCU, our DCU CAO Hub is the perfect site to find helpful resources.  The Hub includes recordings from previous Open Days, subject webinars, and student podcasts!

In the Chat to Students section you can find our Unibuddy Platform where future students can chat to our current students about their courses and DCU Life. You will also find a whole host of blogs written from our students' perspectives, with a range of topics to choose from - why students chose their subjects; what to do after common entry; and how clubs and societies enhance your DCU experience!

With updates on new courses, events and all the fun stuff, our Instagram platform offers another way to help your students imagine their futures. 

So while others might think students are wasting time "mindlessly scrolling" , they're in fact doing even more research into their course choices..we hope!

As much as this time can feel overwhelming and uncertain for students, getting the CAO process started and inital choices in order will really help them going forward, and that's where you and Team DCU can help!
