His participation underlines the political importance of wind energy for Spain and Europe. The crisis in the Middle East has shown, once again, that dependence on fossil fuel imports is a risk Europe cannot afford. The solution is clear. Homegrown electricity. At scale. And fast.

Europe remains too reliant on fossil fuels. Electricity is less than 25% of all the energy we use. The rest is the gasoline we put in our cars, the gas we use to heat our homes and the fuels that power our industry. Europe needs to ramp up the rate of electrification to strengthen its energy security. On the first event day, WindEurope will present the Madrid Call to Action calling on EU Leaders to treat electrification as a strategic priority, not just a policy footnote.

WindEurope 2026 consists of a conference and an exhibition. More than 400 speakers will be on stage over the 3-day conference, covering all aspects of wind energy development. Alongside the conference, more than 620 exhibitors will present themselves and their products at the WindEurope Annual Event 2026, more than ever before.
