The new funding will see Rewilding Europe build on the work we have been carrying out in the current phase of collaboration with Arcadia, which began in 2019. With this continued support we'll work on making rewilding commercially investable, accelerating wildlife comeback across and beyond our rewilding landscapes and enhancing the burgeoning European rewilding movement in several ways.
Bulgaria’s Rewilding Rhodopes team were overjoyed to record the births of four bison calves in May and June this year – the highest number of calves to have been born in a single season since bison were reintroduced to Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains in 2019.

Spanish version of the Aurochs book published Spanish readers can now learn all about the aurochs and the programme to bring back this European icon. The newest translation of the book – “The Aurochs – Born to be Wild” – published by Lynx Edicions, provides context for rewilding efforts in Spain, which are set to boost natural grazing with wild and semi-wild herbivores such as the Tauros.
Europe’s nature-based tourism market is booming. To connect visitors with Europe’s magnificent wild nature in a sustainable way, increase support for rewilding, and grow local economies, the European Safari Company is transitioning into a new company: Rewilding Europe Travel. The new company will operate as a separate business entity, but will still collaborate closely with Rewilding Europe.
