FIT – Choose Tech Programme 2022/2023

Choose Tech is a free online school programme organised by FIT (Fastrack to Information Technology) that seeks to engage senior cycle students to get involved and onto a micro-credential pathway at an earlier juncture giving them the confidence to take the next step towards a career in tech.
Over 3000 students Nationally are registered with Choose Tech!
The aim is to provide further opportunities and links to Tech Apprenticeships, as it will provide a framework for the provision of skilling opportunities for young people with the support of their educators to kick-start their careers in technology. Choose Tech can be used for :
- Special Achievement Task completion for LCA students
- Integrate as part of the School Completion programme (extra curricula or afterschool clubs)
- CPD for Educators
- Mapping Choose Tech modules to curricula and incorporating them into schemes of work (IT, Computing, Science, Maths, PHSE, English, Safeguarding, Biology, Art, Design, Geography)
- Work experience for TY students covering tech skills and soft skills (online modules)
- Career guidance and 3rd Level pathway options (pre-tech and tech apprenticeships)
