Machine Learning and Neural Networks - Machine learning computer systems learn from data. They operate by building a model from example inputs and using that to make predictions or decisions about future inputs, rather than following a static computer program. Machine Learning has been used to solve a wide variety of tasks that are hard to solve using ordinary rule-based programming, including in computer vision and speech recognition.
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are machine learning systems inspired by biological neural networks (the central nervous systems of animals, in particular the brain). They are generally presented as systems of interconnected"neurons" which can compute values from inputs, and are capable of machine learning as well as pattern recognition thanks to their adaptive nature.
