Cruinniú na nÓg - Laser-Cutting
For Cruinniú na n’Óg 2024, Creative Spark will bring creativity to the Market Square, Dundalk with two sets of workshops for children aged 5 to 12. Workshops in spray-painting will be facilitated by artist Michael Stafford. Workshops in parametric design for laser-cutting cardboard shapes and constructing an 'outdoor playground' will be facilitated by the Creative Spark FabLab team. These types of activities promotes teamwork, communication, and collaboration among children, while also fostering their sense of ownership and pride in their work.
Cruinniú na nÓg - Stop Motion Animation
Workshops with AAEX Teens
Young members from AAEX Teens will facilitate a series of 30 minutes workshops, guiding other young artists in the creation of stop motion videos. Target age group 10 - 14 years. The event is fully accessible, everybody welcome.

This year's theme is 'The Natural World'. Nature has long influenced fashion and art from wildlife and florals to the oceans and elements. This is the perfect camp for children who love art, fashion and being creative. All levels are welcome. Age: 8- 15 years

Join us for a 2-hour Cyanotype Workshop, where we will delve into the fascinating world of creating blue prints using natural materials. Learn to coat your paper, arrange leaves, flowers, and other natural objects to create unique pieces. Watch as the distinctive Prussian blue images develop as you rinse your print. Experiment with different toners to recolour your prints. Discover this historic photographic process and leave with your own unique cyanotype masterpiece!
What to bring:
You can take along some objects to experiment with (flowers, leaves, lace, materials, etc.),
Please bring along your own apron or wear some clothes you don’t mind getting inky!
While we do provide paper for printing, students are also encouraged to bring along their own papers or material they would like to experiment with.

Working with Young People experiencing Mental Heath Difficulties;An Art Therapists Perspective
As part of our Creative Ireland Nurture Fund Programme, The Blooming Minds Club at Creative Spark hosted a morning workshop led by artist and art therapist Jenny Slater. This workshop was designed for professional artists and focused on exploring youth mental health within community group art contexts.
During the workshop, Jenny discussed the concepts of good mental health and wellbeing, and explained the main mental health challenges affecting the teenage participants of BMC.
