Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Marine Engineering

NMCI is delighted to announce that our new Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Marine Engineering has been formally approved by Academic Council. This is a major step forward for Marine Engineering education in Ireland.

This new Level 8 Honours degree is a significant development for Ireland’s maritime sector and the latest addition to NMCI’s expanding portfolio of academic programmes.

The programme provides a clear honours-degree progression pathway for marine engineering graduates, marine electrical engineering graduates, Second Engineer and Chief Engineer learners, and experienced NMCI alumni. It has been designed to develop advanced capability in marine engineering systems, technical management, ship design, research, sustainability and regulatory compliance.
