Ní neart go cur le chéile - there is no strength without unity. A big Thank You to all members who attended our AGM. Your ongoing participation & support strengthens our voice in advocating for nature.
The autumn edition of our award-winning magazine Irish Wildlife has been posted to all members. If you haven’t become a member yet, sign up and receive a Welcome Pack including the current issue. The magazine is themed on the three interconnected pillars of our work at IWT: Connection with Nature, Hope through Action, and Rewilding in Ireland.
Junior and Family Members receive our Badger Club magazine, featuring fun facts, games, and a competition. The autumn edition is all about Jellyfish found in Irish waters.
Last week, our Marine Advocacy Officer, Grace Carr, spoke at an Ocean Week event in the EU Parliament. She highlighted some of the underlying issues in achieving sustainable inshore fisheries in Irish waters. Watch a clip of Grace’s presentation here.
🌊 In conjunction with our Fair Seas colleagues, we also took part in the first 'Focail Na Farraige' at the Irish Embassy Brussels with Conradh na Gaeilge. This event celebrated the interconnectedness of the Irish language and the sea.
🦈 While in Brussels, Grace joined forces with a collective of shark conservationists who are urging the European Commission to move swiftly on implementing a comprehensive shark-fin ban across the EU.Read more here from Shark Guardian
