MIC academic makes ‘sound’ arguments in new volume on the philosophy of noise
A new volume titled ‘The Experience of Noise: Philosophical and Phenomenological Perspectives’, co-edited by Dr Basil Vassilicos, Lecturer in Philosophy at MIC, has been released by Springer Publishing.
In this edition’s ‘Meet the Researcher’ feature, we talk to Minh Hieu Nguyen, an MA Applied Linguistics graduate from MIC Limerick, and currently an ESRC-funded PhD candidate at the University of Birmingham.
Minh Hieu's research spans Corpus Linguistics, Critical Discourse Studies, and Translation Studies, with a particular focus on Vietnamese-language media to counter Western-centric bias.
At MIC, being a Good Neighbour means recognising that our campus is part of a shared community. By being considerate, respectful, aware and accountable, we help create a welcoming environment.
Small actions—like respecting our neighbours’ routines, keeping shared spaces tidy, and looking out for one another, make a big difference.
