From this September Maynooth University are offering a 5 year ME (Master of Engineering in Electronic Engineering) programme. Students still have the option of exiting with a BE (Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering) after 4 years. However, the 5 year programme fully satisfies the new academic requirements for being a chartered engineer.

Student joining us this September have this option available to them – no need to decide which route to take until the first semester of fourth year.

As the extra year (year 5) is at master's level, fees are payable. However they are substantially less than a one year standalone taught master’s programme. Furthermore, year 5 is completed over two semesters compared to a taught masters which takes one full year.
