Career development is at the heart of modern PES service design that supports career transitions.

This recent global survey (October/November 2024) gives a snapshot of the career guidance activities of PESs on five continents.

A strong overall response rate of 59% was obtained from WAPES members, with fairly consistent participation across world regions: 
• Africa: 10 responses from 20 WAPES member countries
• Americas: 6 responses from 8 WAPES member countries
• Asia: 4 responses from 10 WAPES member countries
• Europe: 24 responses from 38 WAPES member countries
• Middle East and North Africa: 4 responses from 5 WAPES member countries

What are the main policy drivers affecting the provision of career guidance in the PES?

How does the PES organisationally make such provision?

What are the major challenges in the successful provision of career guidance to PES clients?

Which modes of career guidance delivery do PES use with clients?

How are PES career counsellors prepared for their roles?
