Our online course on Leading Digital Learning provides an overview of all of the key areas you need to know about in relation to digital learning. It includes videos of fellow school leaders together with resources for further exploration. Our self-paced online course enables you to pick and choose from relevant modules or complete the course in full. Teacher Digital Competence Development Teachers' own individual practice is a key domain in the Digital Learning Framework. Teachers' professional and pedagogic competence dominates the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu). We have a number of online courses for post-primary teachers that will help you develop digital competences and your own, individual practices in key areas including Digital Resources, Assessment and more. AI for Schools A brief reminder that our free online course on AI for Schools is available 24/7 and will take just one hour of your time. It provides school leaders and all teachers with an understanding of AI, an overview of key policy documents and an introduction to key considerations for the use of AI in schools. Ethical considerations are also covered. Good Practice Digital Technology and Inclusive Learning in Powerstown ETNS In this video, the principal and teachers at Powerstown Educate Together National School describe Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in their school context and how they use it in the classroom to represent information. Student Perspective: Formative Assessment Digital Portfolios In this video, students at Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School discuss their experiences using Sway and PowerPoint to create CBA presentations which they uploaded to Teams using the assignment tab, and the benefits to having their learning digitised.. Digital Technology Infrastructure Webinars for Digital Leadership Teams Oide Technology in Education will be hosting two webinars on Digital Technology Infrastructure (DTI) for schools in November, one for Primary schools (19th November) and another for Post Primary schools (26th November). Webinar content will mainly focus on supporting school leaders and digital learning teams, as they lead and support technology infrastructure related initiatives in their schools. Science Week 2024 To celebrate Science Week 2024, Scoilnet have put together a collection of resources to help teachers plan for and get involved. Ranging from lesson plans to experiments, classroom resources to resources from national organisations, this is a comprehensive resource for Post Primary Science teachers. (We also have a dedicated Primary Page!) Britannica Updated The Britannica School website is now available anywhere, anytime in the Republic of Ireland. It contains a comprehensive range of age-appropriate resources that feature factual information, multimedia and interactivity. So, pick the level that best suits you and your students and get started! The History and Future of Artificial intelligence Artificial intelligence continues to dominate our media and even around conversations in education. Scoilnet have created a resource which includes AI game makers that you can use in class, an interesting ‘Did you know’ section, and many other relevant resources. Webwise Online Safety Review Tool Have you tried the new Webwise Online Safety Review Tool? The tool helps schools assess and improve their Online Safety policy and practices. More News Digital Citizenship Champion Workshops The Digital Citizenship Champion (DCC) programme from the Oide Digital Technologies (Primary) team, in collaboration with Webwise, is designed to equip primary teachers with essential knowledge, skills, and resources to effectively teach digital citizenship. Teachers participating in the DCC initiative will facilitate face-to-face workshops in their local Education Centre. BRICS Project (Building a Real-World Integrated Curriculum in STEM) Launch BRICS, a collaborative project between the Oide Digital Technologies (Primary) team and the LEGO Education Innovation Studio team, was launched recently in DCU. Teachers from 14 primary schools in the Midlands region are involved in this initiative, which aims to engage children in 3rd to 6th class in real-world integrated STEM learning. The project is also supported by Athlone Education Centre and the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). |
