Assistance Required for Promoting the Importance of Training

A new bespoke upskilling initiative is being developed for micro and small businesses by SOLAS in collaboration with the Education and Training Boards for employees working in SMEs in core operational business process areas such as Business Administration, Sales and Marketing and Customer Services.
SOLAS are seeking assistance from a range of SMEs across sectors and from different parts of Ireland in the promotion of this initiative.

AMTCE Skills to Advance Programmes

Skills to Advance:
  • is a national initiative that provides upskilling and reskilling opportunities to employees in jobs undergoing change and to those currently employed in vulnerable sectors
  • aims to equip employees with the skills they need to progress in their current role or to adapt to the changing job market
  • helps employers of small and medium-sized enterprise to identify skills needs and invest in their workforce by providing subsidised education and training to staff.

AMTCE training courses are offered under the SOLAS Skills to Advance programme and represent a significant and tangible response to the identified needs of industry. Course offerings span across the breath of the technology landscape relevant to both current manufacturing operations and those required in industry 4.0 driven operations.

Cyber Security Apprenticeship

This programme is designed to provide a talent pipeline for employers in the technology sector who have a need for technology practitioners in the field of Cyber Security. The programme provides apprentices with the theory and practical skills required to be employed as a Cyber Security specialist and is designed for those who have recently completed second level education or mature learners who are seeking to retrain.
Apprentices will spend the first 6 months on a full-time basis at AMTCE learning hands-on cyber security skills, the next 12 months will be spent working with their employer for 3 days per week with the remaining 2 days in the AMTCE on day-release and the final 6 months working with their employer 4 days per week with 1 day in the AMTCE in order to finalising their certification.

Professional Certificate in Foundation of Irish Law

This course will commence on 2 September 2021 and will be delivered remotely for 2021 on Thursday evenings from 17:30 -19:00.

Professional Certificate in Whistleblowing, Law and Practice

This course will commence on 16 September 2021 and will be delivered remotely for 6 weeks of term -Thursdays 17:30-19:30.
