Study Medicine Poland predicts that Polish medical, dental, and veterinary schools will be offering more places to Irish students this year. This exciting opportunity arises due to tightening visa regulations, which are expected to reduce the influx of students from visa-required countries—thereby creating more opportunities for students from Ireland.
"Over the last 15 years of experience in international education, I haven't seen such interest in Poland, which now seems recognised as the main alternative to studying medical sciences at home," says Artur Banaszkiewicz, Founder of StudyMedicinePoland.com.
As the Irish Leaving Certificate exams begin on June 4th, many students may not realise that European third-level education operates differently. Several Polish universities offer admissions based on interviews and/or entrance exams, rather than relying solely on Leaving Cert results (HPAT is not required at all). This means that students who perform well in interviews have the chance to secure a place in a Polish medical school—without the pressure of achieving exceptionally high points.
In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the number of Irish students choosing Poland as their destination for medical education. Many of these graduates are now returning to Ireland to practise in their respective fields. Study Medicine Poland remains committed to supporting Irish students in achieving their goals of studying and building successful careers in the medical sciences.
