Invitation to Pilot Online Course on AI in Education

As some of you will know, myself and a colleague (Peter Tiernan) in DCU are currently engaged in a European research project (https://www.paideiaproject.eu/) about the use of AI in education. 

As part of this project, we are inviting primary and post-primary teachers in schools across Ireland to participate in piloting our new online teacher professional development course on AI in education. Participants can progress through the materials at the times and pace that best suit their schedules and current knowledge of AI. The course incorporates a blend of interactive activities, research-informed insights, and hands-on guidance to help teachers explore the use of AI in education. It includes:

• Clear and accessible textual content
• Instructional videos
• Interactive exercises
• English and Irish versions of course content
• Built‐in AI tools to experience AI in practice while learning about its possibilities and limitations
• Optional links and resources for deeper exploration

The course will launch in early February 2026. In advance of this, we are asking teachers who are interested in taking part in the course pilot to complete the registration form available at https://tinyurl.com/paideia-ireland. Teachers who have expressed interest in participating in the pilot will be contacted in the coming weeks with full instructions on how to access and begin the course.
