Introduction
Our four-year BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy is now accepting applications for the September 2026 intake. This innovative programme is validated by QQI and accredited by IACP, Ireland’s largest professional body. With a seamless transition from theory to practice, graduates of this programme are perfectly placed to pursue an enriching and fulfilling career as a therapist in the helping professions.
Who Should Apply
This course is designed for people who wish to become professional therapists, or for those who have an opportunity to use counselling skills as part of their work. The programme will also appeal to a variety of professionals who wish to augment and build upon previous training in the addiction, social care, health, education, and mental health professions.
Entry Routes
- A qualification recognised at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) e.g., Leaving Certificate is required for entry onto this programme. Those with substantial life experience can also apply under our recognition of prior learning and experience policy.
- Learners will be invited to an interview with faculty as part of the application process.
- Learners can apply for exemptions under RPL; however, such exemptions must be applied for in advance of commencing the programme.
- If English is your second language you are required to submit an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) cert at Level 6, or equivalent. For more information, please click HERE
Start Dates
The programme is delivered through 70% onsite learning and 30% online learning. Online classes are delivered in our Tallaght Campus, and our online classes are run as tutorials that involve students and their lecturers logging into our online portal Zoom™ simultaneously. There is an 85% attendance requirement.
- Attendance Options:
- Option 1: Weekly Wednesday (10am – 5pm)
- Option 2: Weekly Saturday (10am – 5pm)
- Option 3: Block (1 weekend per month, Friday evenings 6:30pm – 9/10pm, all day Saturday and Sunday 9am – 5pm)
- Option 4: Hybrid Bi-Monthly (Thursday 6:30pm – 9:30pm, Saturday 9am – 5pm)
- Award: BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (QQI Validated & IACP Accredited, provided that all IACP requirements are achieved.
- Starting: September 2026
