Choosing a college course, an apprenticeship or a PLC is one of the first big decisions a young person makes, and it shapes a lot of what comes after. Too many students make it with little time, little guidance and a deadline closing in.
CourseCompass has launched six new county career guidance sites to help change that:
careerguidancecork.ie for Cork,
careerguidancelimerick.ie for Limerick,
careerguidancedonegal.ie for Donegal,
careerguidancedublin.ie for Dublin,
careerguidancekildare.ie for Kildare
careerguidanceclare.ie for Clare
Each site is written for students and families in that county. It covers the local colleges, PLC courses, apprenticeships and employers, along with the 2026 CAO points for nearby colleges. Cork has UCC and MTU, Donegal has ATU Donegal, Dublin has TCD, UCD, DCU and TU Dublin, Kildare has Maynooth University, Clare has Shannon aviation and marine training, and Limerick has UL, MIC and TUS.
Every site also carries the CourseCompass assessments, built into its guidance packages. These include CAO course matching, help with subject choice, and PLC and apprenticeship matching, so students can compare all their routes in one place. The assessments were used by 1,000 people throughout CAO 2026. The Full Guidance Package is €49.99.
"Our aim is to help students in these counties make the decisions that will affect their whole lives," said Stephen McKeon, founder of CourseCompass. "A student in Donegal and a student in Dublin face different options, different colleges and different local opportunities, and their guidance should reflect that."
