Following the recent release of this year’s Leaving Cert results, many students will have decided on their next step. Whether it’s further education or a different path, the right step for you is always a big decision.

For many students, a number of factors may impact their next steps. These include changing their mind on their selected course, wanting to remain closer to home while they pursue their higher education options, or missing out on required grades and having to consider other pathways or alternatives.

Available Places is a fantastic option for any of these scenarios. If there are additional places remaining after all offers and waiting lists are completed, those vacancies will be advertised through Available Places.

Even if students didn’t submit a CAO application, they can still look at Available Places in DkIT, which offers a wide variety of degrees beginning in September 2025. There will be additional places available in degree areas such as Business, Computing, Arts, Sports, Science, Health and Hospitality.

CAO will make offers to students who have already applied to the CAO on Wednesday 27th August, with the Available Places facility opening on Thursday 28th August 2025.
