All-Ireland Programming Olympiad (AIPO) 2026

AIPO (the Irish Informatics Olympiad) is open to second-level students in Ireland under the age of 20 with an interest in problem-solving and programming. The competition forms part of Ireland’s selection pathway to international informatics olympiads, including the IOI and EGOI.

The competition begins with an online Preliminary (Selection) Round, which can be completed at home or at school. This round is used to determine entry to the final.

How students can take part: 

  1. Register for the competition by following the instructions under “How to Submit” on the AIPO website
  2. Solve and submit the preliminary round problems.
    1. The deadline to submit is Saturday, February 15th.
    2. This round can be done at home or at school and is used to determine entry to the final round. The Preliminary Round Problems are available on the AIPO website.
  3. Participate in the AIPO Final, which will take place o on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 (in person at UCC).
