Free Accommodation Guides for Irish Universities

Free Accommodation Guides for Irish Universities September 2027 on CourseCompass:

If you’re starting college in September 2027, the CAO form is only half the battle. Finding somewhere to live is the other half, and for a lot of families it’s the part that keeps them up at night.

CourseCompass has published free accommodation guides for students starting in September 2027, covering 32 Irish colleges. Pick a college to see its campuses, or search by town or county if you’re still weighing up your options.

What’s in each guide

Each guide sets out what the college itself publishes: campus and partner accommodation, prices, deposits, payment dates and who to contact. Every guide links back to the college’s own pages, so you can check the details before you pay anything.

The University of Limerick is a good example. Its accommodation guide shows 2026/27 full-year fees on campus from €5,230 to €8,012, depending on the village and room type, plus the €500 deposit and the off-campus accommodation officer’s contact details.

Find your college

Guides are live for the universities, including UCC, University of Galway, UCD, Trinity, DCU and Maynooth, as well as Mary Immaculate College. For the technological universities, there are guides for TUS, ATU, SETU and TU Dublin.

More than just prices

There are also practical guides on how to apply for accommodation, an accommodation checklist, digs and renting a room, tenant rights and scams, and a plain-English glossary and FAQ. The costs and grants guide includes a worksheet where you can enter your own figures and see what a year in college will really cost.

What’s still to come

The guides use the most recent prices the colleges have published. Prices and application dates for 2027/28 will be added as colleges release them, and the CAO’s 2027 dates sheet doesn’t yet include the Leaving Cert results date or the Round One date.

“Students and parents shouldn’t have to search thirty-two different websites to work out what college will cost, or whether a listing is a scam,” said Stephen McKeon, founder of CourseCompass. “We want them to have the facts in one place, with the college’s own source behind every figure, before the pressure of offers day.”
