An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the National Maritime College of Ireland for a 36-month research position leading NMCI’s contribution to FLOWLO – Floating Wind Logistics and Operations. Funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and led by University College Cork in partnership with MTU/NMCI and Wind Energy Ireland, FLOWLO will examine the port infrastructure, vessel requirements, logistics and marine operations needed to support floating offshore wind development around Ireland’s south and west coasts. The successful candidate will use NMCI’s advanced navigation-simulation facilities to lead applied research examining operations in Cork Harbour, Bantry Bay and the Shannon Estuary. They will also help develop new research partnerships and funding proposals for NMCI. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in maritime operations, navigation simulation, marine engineering, offshore renewable energy, ports or maritime logistics.
