Generative AI in Higher Education Teaching & Learning: Policy Framework

This framework, along with its accompanying annexes and supporting instruments, applies to the use of generative artificial intelligence, most notably large language models like ChatGPT, in teaching and learning within Irish higher education institutions.

The purpose of this document is to guide educators, academic leaders, and professional staff in making informed, values-based decisions about how gen AI is adopted and integrated into educational practice.
