AI is new on the job scene. In a very short time it has moved from being a toy to being a very useful tool. It is far too early to predict where it will go but it is very much the time to start the conversation, especially for those planning their careers. Here is a short video and a few points to get the debate started.
Automation of Routine Tasks – AI can handle repetitive and predictable tasks (e.g., data entry, manufacturing, customer service), reducing the need for human labour in those areas.
Job Displacement – Certain roles, especially low-skill or process-based jobs, may be replaced entirely by AI-driven systems and robots.
Creation of New Jobs – AI also generates new opportunities in fields like AI development, data science, ethics, and system maintenance.
Skill Shift and Reskilling Needs – Workers will need to develop new technical, analytical, and creative skills to stay relevant in an AI-driven economy.
Enhanced Productivity – AI can assist workers by automating parts of their workflow, allowing them to focus on higher-value or more creative tasks.
Transformation of Job Roles – Rather than eliminating jobs, AI may change them—turning traditional roles (like marketing, education, or healthcare) into more data- and technology-driven professions.
