Two dynamic youth organisations, H2O Heroes and UYI (United Youth Initiative), are delighted to announce their partnership with Gaisce - The President’s Award as Official Challenge Partners.
After moving from Slovakia to Ireland, all five children in the Ponik family picked Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) as their third-level institution of choice. Each sibling forged their own path, but they all shared fond memories of DkIT’s welcoming community, vibrant student life, and dedicated lecturers. From volleyball clubs to book groups, from IT skills to lifelong friendships, the Ponik family credits DkIT for shaping both their personal and professional lives.

This exciting collaboration will open new pathways for young people across the region to engage in meaningful community action, personal development and environmental education. Through these programmes, participants can work towards their Gaisce Awards—with H2O Heroes, participants can achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold Award Levels, and with UYI, participants can complete their Bronze Award.
A Dundalk Native, Dr Niamh Shaw sets off on another adventure, this time to the Arctic from July 7th - 23rd for an art-science residency at the The Arctic Circle Summer 2025 Expedition, she brings with her some very important pieces of home.
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is delighted to welcome its new Students’ Union (SU) Team for the academic year 2025-2026. The team officially took office on 1st July and is made up of three full-time officers: returning members Gerry O’Brien and Tobi Bewaji, and newcomer Rosheen Hornby.
