Lir Academy Updates

Lir Academy Updates
We have not one, but TWO shows well underway at The Lir Academy!

Tom Stoppard’s multi-award winning 1993 play, Arcadia, illuminates dense mathematical subjects through the portrayal of the characters' lives - a young woman and her tutor, and a historian following the trail of a hermit. Runs until 30th May - Book your ticket now.

My Sister in this House tells the tale of sister's Christine and Léa, recently reunited orphans employed as maids by Madame Danzard and her daughter Isabelle. This is a dark tale of power, class, religion and social systems and their effect on a household of women. Runs until 29th May - Book your ticket now.

You can also see either show as part of our fundraising evening, The Backstage Club on May 29th. See more below.

Annual Fundraiser - The Backstage Club

Our annual fundraiser, The Backstage Club, takes place this Wednesday 29th May! Join us at The Lir Academy and have a great night out with cocktails, a show, cabaret and dinner with a difference. All proceeds from this event go towards supporting Stage Management and Technical Theatre bursaries.

Come be part of our crew for this unique event and help us celebrate our students.
Doors open and cocktails from 6pm.
Show 1 - Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, directed by Hilary Wood
Show 2 - My Sister In This House by Wendy Kesselman, directed by Joy Nesbitt

Come dine behind the scenes post-show and enjoy the cabaret, fun and drinks until late!

Student Bursary -
Support the Creatives of the Future

Ten years ago we spoke to a number of our talented students who were recipients of bursaries to support their studies at The Lir Academy. They've gone on to success behind and in front of the screen in theatre, TV and film.

As a non-profit, we are dependent on additional support to assist talented people to participate in our programmes, who otherwise may not afford to. Could you support future graduates to realise their ambitions to study with us and shape our cultural and creative future? Join us for our fundraising event The Backstage Club this week or donate today to this cause here.
Thank you!
