Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has launched their new Studio Stories which are available on the DkIT website for all to view. The series is a collection of standalone videos to support many of the undergraduate courses offered by the college. The information in each video is delivered by current and past DkIT students and academic leaders within DkIT. In some cases, CEO's of international companies who have hired DkIT graduates give their opinions on the qualities and skills required by undergraduates and graduates. Each episode is crammed with insider knowledge from a range of industry professionals to help all students make the correct choice of study for them. This series delves into a variety of disciplines that the Institute offers from Engineering, Health & Science, Business, Humanities and Informatics to the Creative Arts.
These captivating Studio Stories offer a world of insight into all the Institute has to offer its students and the supports available. DkIT recently reported that 97% of its graduates are in employment or further education within 6 months of graduating, and after watching these stories you can understand why the Institute’s graduates have such phenomenal employability success.
The content and filming of these informative Studio Stories was very much a DkIT family affair as the series was created by current DkIT students for perspective students, starred students past and present along with staff and industry friends. Also, the filming of this series is brought to you with the expertise of students studying BA (Hons) in Film & Television Production, these DkIT undergraduates superbly operated cameras and autocue, rigged lights and recorded all the sound.
The host of this fabulous collection of videos is the super talented, DkIT graduate, David Hammond, who graduated from the Institute in 2017. David is an award-winning star of radio who has quickly risen through the ranks of broadcasting and currently co-hosts, Spin 1038 national Breakfast Show called Fully Charged: Recharged alongside Emma and Aisling.
DkIT would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in this fantastic production particularly, the students, staff and representatives from industry that included Microsoft, First Derivatives, Kaseya, ESB and WuXi Biologics.
