Transport Operations and Commercial Driving Apprenticeship
Location: Rathcoole Dublin
DACHSER Ireland is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate logistics and commercial driving apprentice who will undertake the Transport Operations and Commercial Driving Apprenticeship at ATU Sligo for September 2026.
On this program you will progress from a category B license all the way to category C+E licence (Artic) with a proper understanding about logistics and transport from start to finish. No experience is necessary, but the candidate should have an interest in transport and logistics to progress to HGV driving. Category B (car) licence required.

Purpose of role
At DACHSER Ireland you will take an active part in shaping your apprenticeship whilst passing through various departments in order to deepen your specialist knowledge of logistics. You will be able to build up your network at DACHSER and collaborate on all manner of projects both national and international. With your apprenticeship at DACHSER, you will become a part of a family company whose future is assured.
Move Your Future
This is a two-year programme involving one day per week online training with ATU Sligo and four days working on site at our premises in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin. On successful completion you will obtain a Level 6 QQI certification and a full C+E licence.
Eligibility Criteria:
Apprentices must meet the educational criteria for Commercial Driving Apprenticeship programme:
- Must be at least 18 years old at the start of the programme
- Must hold a clean ‘B’ Driving licence
- Must also have one of the below requirements
- H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above must be obtained in mathematics.

- Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
or
- Mature candidate over the age of 23 without specified LC qualifications. – minimum 2 years working in the sector
