Taking The Pulse of The Future with TY Students

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) recently welcomed over 30 local TY students on campus for a taster event in the Department of Nursing Midwifery and Early Years. This occasion allowed TY students the opportunity to experience activities and meet lecturers and students from each discipline in the Department.

DkIT’s award winning Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Early Years has an industry renowned reputation in the education of nursing, midwifery and early years practitioners.

On the day of the event TY students were introduced to the different disciplines of nursing on offer in the Institute which include General Nursing, Intellectual Disability nursing, Mental Health nursing and Midwifery along with a full overview of their Early Childhood Studies Course.

Dr Myles Hackett, Head of Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Early Years said “The Staff and Students of DkIT had a wonderful day with the TY students and it was fantastic to be able to show them our state-of-the-art facilities. Nursing and midwifery graduates are in high demand with DkIT graduates experiencing a 100% employment rate post-graduation. We have also seen a significant increase in demand for Early Childhood Studies graduates. We look forward to welcoming the students we met today onto the campus in the future”.
