Start of the Academic Year at NCAD

What's your plan for 2026/27?

If you decided to take a year before applying, perhaps joining a PLC programme to give you time to prepare a portfolio, then stay tuned to our newsletters. We will send you important information over the coming months.

If you didn't get the CAO place you wanted but are really fascinated by the world of art and design, then you are not too late to apply for Part Time BA Visual Culture. However, you should get your application in as soon as possible. See the link below for more details.

For those of you planning to apply in 2027, here are some important dates!

Higher Options: 16 - 18 September

Come join us at Higher Options in the RDS in Dublin. You can find us at stall 63, through the main doors, in front of you, on the lefthand side.

NCAD Open Day: Wednesday 25 November

This is an important day for anyone applying to the CAO. You get the opportunity to attend talks, view student portfolios, and see students working in their studio spaces.*

Portfolio Information Evening Sessions: 19, 20, & 21 of October

Monday 19th October is an online session for those based outside of Dublin. Those based near Dublin should attend in-person on either:

Tuesday 20th or Wednesday 21st October.*

Product Design and Interaction Design Portfolio Workshop: 4 November

A portfolio is not mandatory for BA Interaction Design and BA Product Design. However, you can still submit an optional portfolio and have the opportunity to gain up to 200 points to your Leaving/CAO points.*
