Ireland takes the EU chair

 
 

This resource supports teachers in exploring Ireland’s 2026 Presidency of the Council of the European Union with students. It brings together discussion prompts, curriculum and SDG connections, and classroom resources from Scoilnet, RTÉ and Britannica, helping students examine democracy, cooperation, leadership, citizenship and Ireland’s role in European decision-making processes.

 

Scoilnet Maps - New World Map Viewer

 

A new Scoilnet Maps World Map Viewer was released last week with a series of new layers that should prove very engaging in the classroom. The Layers options now include Recent Earthquakes; Active Hurricanes; World Heritage Sites; Cities of the World; River & Coastal Flooding (Ireland only); World Biomes; Open Street Map.The World Map viewer is separate to the Táilte Éireann maps of Ireland.
