The fitness and wellbeing industry in Ireland is booming.  Personal strength and conditioning regimes are now an integral part of training for all types of competitive sports, while we are all become increasingly aware of the importance of maintaining our physical and Mental Health.   SCFE has gained an unrivalled reputation within the industry as a leader in the field providing high quality education and qualifications ensuring that graduates have the skills and competence required in this intensive business.

At SCFE Learners can commence their career in the Fitness and Leisure industry with our QQI Level 5 Fitness Instruction and Exercise course and then chose to specialise as Personal Trainers with our QQI Level 6/ ITEC Personal Training and Sports Massage Therapy including Sports Injury and Physiotherapy Assistant Course or QQI Level 6/ ITEC Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning course.  All of these courses are also accredited by REPS Ireland (Register of Exercise Professionals) and include Work Experience placements ensuring that students build the skills and confidence to work in the fitness industry.

Graduates of these courses have successfully entered into employment as personal trainers and therapists for sporting organisations, gyms and fitness and leisure centres.  Some former students have also set up their own businesses and consultancies, while other have chosen to progress to Third Level colleges to study on courses such as Physiotherapy, Sports Science and Sports Management.  Other Graduates have continued to progress with their Sporting Careers and then returned as guest lecturers to SCFE including Womens’s International Soccer Star Aine O’Gorman.

Online Applications Open Now:

SCFE continues to accept applications online at www.scfe.ie.  Applications will be processed remotely with interviews taking place through phone, email and other online platforms agreed with the applicant and course coordinator.  Anxious Leaving Certificate students can rest assured that Leaving Cert/ CAO points are not required for enrollment on SCFE courses. All courses are recognised for the SUSI Grant and Higher Education Authority (HEA) fund for learners with learning difficulties.

The college, located within walking distance from Dun Laoghaire, is well served by public transport and free secure parking is available to students.
