Welcome to the Post-Primary Languages Ireland Spring 2024 Newsletter. As always, we are here to support you with innovative, informative, and useful resources, news, and ideas. We also look forward to meeting many of you at upcoming events. 
Registration is now open for Leaving Certificate Language Saturday Classes starting this September. Students interested must be sitting their Leaving Certificate in 2026 to be eligible to participate in classes. These classes are funded by the Department of Education and there is no tuition fee for students to attend. Read More>> 
The deadline for facilitators to apply for funding to host a heritage or lesser-taught language Summer Camp is this Wednesday 10th April. The two-week camps are for post-primary students attending school in Ireland and allow heritage language speakers to immerse themselves in their culture while allowing beginners to discover a new language. Read More>>
Term 3 of Say Yes to Languages is set to begin on Monday 15th April with approximately 400 schools taking part in the module this term. Welcome packs, including pupil resources, bunting and posters, are currently being distributed to all participating schools. Read more>>

Are you a post-primary MFL teacher qualified in a language you are not currently teaching? Do you want to increase or diversify language capacity in your school? 
An MFL Teacher Upskilling Scheme is available to help the introduction and development of the main curricular languages in the school. Read More>>
The Minister for Education Norma Foley TD recently published the Languages Connect Interim Review Report and Implementation Plan to 2026. We have come a long way and we are looking forward to continuing the  Languages Connect journey, supporting the Department with implementation of key actions in this strategy. View Report>>
